About the Yoga course
Millions of people throughout the world have discovered the physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of the practice of Yoga. Since 1969, the Sivananda Organization has trained thousands of students world-wide to practice and teach traditional Hatha Yoga. In the US, the program is offered on the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm on 40 acres of land located in the Gold Country of the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills in Northern California. The intensive course is an inmersion in a day-long balanced program of theory and practices. Previous Yoga experience is not mandatory, although encouraged.
Course Curriculum
The comprehensive one-month program covers all aspects of theory and practice of Yoga. The program was designed by Swami Vishnu-Devananda based on the traditional teachings of his teacher Swami Sivananda. The course includes:
-Hatha Yoga theory and practice (yogic postures, breathing, relaxation, among others)
-Deep relaxation
-Meditation
-Mantras
-Yogic Philosophy
-Yogic Diet and Nutrition
-Yogic Cleansing and Detoxification
-Pregnancy and Children's Yoga
Dates
The program is offered in a variety of locations world-wide (US, Canada, India, Europe, Asia and Latin America). The program in California is offered three times a year (around May, October, December).
Certification
Graduates of the program will receive a certificate issued by the international Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers. You will be joining a community of over 27,000 graduates world-wide since 1969, actively teaching Yoga in their communities. The course is certified by the Yoga Alliance
