
The Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm is situated in the foothills of California's Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 2000 feet. The historic gold mining towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City are nearby, and the city of Sacramento is an hour's drive away.
The climate is relatively mild in the winter, with rain and an occasional light snow, and can be quite dry and hot in the summer.
The hills that make up the ashram land are populated by oaks and pines. The beautiful Yuba, Bear and American rivers are nearby, offering wonderful hikes along the river gorges. Lake Tahoe is not far away to the east.
