Yoga Vacations | Family Retreats | Kids Camp
For 40 years, the Yoga Farm has been teaching classical yoga, a holistic form of yoga, year round. People of all ages and backgrounds find something unique. The Yoga Farm's Daily Schedule provides two yoga asana classes, two guided silent meditation sessions, two kirtan sessions, two lectures on yoga and related topics, and two organic, vegetarian meals. The Yoga Farm is located on 80 acres of beautiful countryside in the Sierra foothills.
The Yoga Farm environment is conducive to rapid progress in regaining health, energy, and peace of mind through relaxation, rejuvenation, diet and exercise, breath work, study, and positive thinking (The 5 Points). Some of the benefits visitors to the Yoga Farm report include greater mind-body awareness, heightened sensory perception, greater sense of purpose, improved attitude, stronger resistance to stress, improved efficiency at work, and better relationships. Bringing Family and Yoga practice together during this special time here at the Ashram. Enjoy the peaceful nature, have fun and quality time with your family, while shaping body and mind in the daily Asana classes and spiritual courses.
The Family Week offers and an adjusted Ashram schedule to Family needs. Qualified staff members will provide some childcare, kids Yoga Asana classes and kids meditation, to give parents time for their personal Sadhana (spiritual practice), but some parental supervision of the children is required.
Family accommodation in four-bed cabins are available, however, space is limited. If you would like to be nearer to nature, bring a tent!
Our camp includes 2 daily yoga asana classes, special Children satsang with a short meditation, chanting, storytelling and Yoga Philosophy. Daily swimming in the pond, participating in outside games and play time, and enjoying trips to the beautiful and refreshing Yuba River. We have some new activities added to this year's camp like nature studies, hikes, painting, sketching, and even a drama production with music and costume preparation. Karma Yoga will be introduced to the campers, including chores around the farm, the garden and our farm animals.
Experienced Sivananda yoga teachers lead a Children's Yoga Camp every summer for youth aged 7-14. Children will benefit from daily yoga and breathing exercises combined with meditation practice, learning the value of karma yoga (selfless service), and satsang just for kids followed by singing and inspiring stories. There will also be plenty of time for swimming, fun and games, and special activities outside the Yoga Farm. Help your child's evolution by helping create a solid foundation of peaceful, healthy living for them.
