Self Knowledge Course - Sankaracharya's Viveka Chudamani

Introducing the fundamental teachings of Vedanta philosophy, this 5-day course draws on the wisdom of sage Adi Sankaracharya, whose Crest Jewel of Discrimination offers consice and clear instructions for understanding one's true nature.

Learn tools to properly enquire into questions of Who am I? and What is my purpose in life? Develop the practice of discrimination (Viveka) and detachment (Vairagya).

Daily Schedule

6-8am Satsang: Silent meditation, chanting and lecture
8-10am Yoga Class
10am Brunch
11am Karma Yoga
12pm Labrynth Walk
1-3pm Self-Knowledge Workshop
3-4pm Free Time and Nature walks

Open to all. A basic practice of Yoga and meditation is a plus.


$150 plus accommodations for five nights.

Arrival and Departure

The course will begin at 7pm on Sunday, Spetember 22nd with Orientation followed by Satsang, and will end at 3pm on Friday, September 27th.

We recommend that you spend at least a few days at the Yoga Farm before the start of your course. This allows your body and mind to rest, re-energize and be nourished by the ashram environment. You can then bring your study feeling relaxed and refreshed.  You may also wish to stay for some days after the end of the course to allow the learning from your study to integrate more fully into your consciousness within the supportive environment of the ashram.

Swami PranavanandaAbout Swami Pranavananda
Swami Pranavananda took the vow of Sannyas in 1995. He is a gifted teacher who is the main hatha yoga teacher at the ashram and teaches the Anatomy and Physiology section of our Teachers Training Course. He co-directed the San Francisco Center for five years. A talented musician, he enjoys leading kirtan and bhajan chanting sessions during satsang.
