Karma Yoga Week

Karma Yoga is service done without expectation of personal benefit. We welcome karma yogis for this special karma yoga week. Karma Yogis work four hours a day and receive a 50% reduction on accommodations. Gardening, maintenance, building and cooking skills are especially welcome.

 

Daily Schedule

6-8am Satsang: Silent meditation, chanting and lecture

8-10am Yoga Class

10am Brunch

11am Karma Yoga

4-6pm Yoga Class

6pm Dinner

8-10pm Satsang: meditation, chanting and lecture

Arrival and Departure

The week will begin at 8pm on Sunday, September 23 with satsang, and will end Friday, Sept. 28 at 3pm.

We encourage you to arrive by 4pm on Sunday, making the most out of the afternoon by joining us for the Asana class and dinner. You are always welcome and encouraged to extend your stay to any length before or after the course. Please indicate your desired arrival and departure dates on your registration form (click 'register' below).

Slip-on shoes, loose comfortable clothing, writing materials, meditation shawl or blanket, yoga mat, flashlight.

Reservations

To reserve a place for this course, please register online or email yogafarmregistration@sivananda.org. Then please call to give us your credit card deposit and confirm your reservation.

A deposit paying for your first night's stay is required for your reservation. Please note that in case of cancellation, no refund will be given. A credit note for other programs at the Yoga Farm (valid for one year) will be given.

 

Kailas ChaitanyaAbout Kailas Chaitanya
Kailas Chaitanya is one of the main teachers of Hatha Yoga and Meditation at the ashram. He graduated from the Sivananda Yoga Teacher's Training Course in 2007. He was assistant director at the Los Angeles Sivananda Yoga Center for 2 years. Since 2009 he has been assistant director of the Sivananda Yoga Farm in Grass Valley, CA. In 2010 he took the first step in becoming a renunciate monk of the Sivananda order.
