The Vishnu-devananda Yoga Vedanta Center is a Sangha or spiritual home dedicated to the practice and teaching of the various aspects of yoga and Vedanta philosophy for enhancing physical and mental balance, developing inner peace, and attaining enlightenment. Founded in May 2001, the center offers yoga classes, meditation and philosophy sessions, Sanskrit courses, and various intensives in Berkeley, as well as annual retreats in the Himalayas, North India. Classes follow a classical approach (Sivananda tradition) and are taught in the spirit of Karma Yoga, or selfless service. The center's director is Gajananam, a direct disciple of Swami Vishnu-devananda who has been practicing and teaching yoga and meditation for over 20 years. As a spiritual center, our major goal is spiritual practice and service. Although we list the donations expected for each class or course, those who are unable to afford these amounts are welcome to join us on a donation basis. 1034 Delaware St., Berkeley, CA 94710 (510)273-2447 mail@VishnuYoga.org
